Folding Services
WTP offers an extensive range of trade folding services.
Conventional folding
Our folding equipment includes 6/6/6 and 4/4/4 folding configurations. This means you can produce an incredibly diverse rang of folds for brochures and direct mail pieces.
Signature folding
Our folding machines produce nearly any type of imposition for saddle-stitched and perfect bound books. You can also rely on our expert guidance for help in laying out impositions to reduce costs and get the job done faster.
Map Folding
Map folding is a rather broad term which can include any combination of parallel, accordion, roll, and quarter folds. These are used in tourist maps, topographical maps, product instruction sheets, or other unique brochures. Hand-folding is also available for complex folding projects such as multi-dimensional folds.
Automatic gate folding
Gate folding, similar to map folds, is a design technique that maximizes information display while maintaining compact finished dimensions. The design appears as a standard page when closed but reveals concealed panels when unfolded. The technique is useful for oversized content like maps, charts, diagrams, and photographs that exceed single-page dimensions.
Beyond its practical benefits, gate folding adds an engaging interactive element. As readers open the twin panels, they discover previously hidden content in a dramatic reveal. This makes it an effective approach for storytelling, instruction delivery, or process visualization.

WTP has a Muller Martini Saddle Stitcher with 4th/5th knife capability which means we can produce saddle-stitched books one-up or two-up.

Perfect Binding

Coil binding
Coil binding services are available for all types of booklets and catalogs.
Plastic Comb Binding (GBC Binding)
Plastic comb binding, commonly referred to as GBC binding, is available for all types of manuals, catalogs, and booklets.
Wire-o Binding (Double Loop Binding)
WTP offers double loop binding, also called Wire-O binding. It’s used on many types of catalogs, manuals, and booklets.
Die Cutting
WTP’s die cutting services include custom die cutting jobs as well as common jobs like pocket folders and door hangers. Print resellers can reduce costs on a range of die cutting services by taking advantage of the many standard size dies available at WTP.
Scoring – Inline and Offline
We have both inline scoring and offline scoring and creasing services available.
Inline scoring (creasing)
All folding machines at WTP are equipped with Technifold scoring units. These high-end folding machine scoring units produce die-quality scores inline on papers from about 90 - 100# book up through cover stocks around 14 pt or 350gsm.
The key benefit to inline scoring on folding machines is that it eliminates the need for separate press or die scoring operations. It gets jobs to reseller clients faster without any fiber cracking on the folds.
Offline scoring (creasing)
For heavy stocks that can’t be scored inline on a folding machine, we use a variety of scoring and creasing equipment. This includes our cylinder press and a Rollem scoring machine. Depending on the job, we also score or perf on our offset presses with litho score or litho perf.
Perforating
WTP offers both inline and offline perforating to suit the needs of any given job. We use perforating tools on our folding machines to handle a range of perforating needs. We use offline perforating on the cylinder press, on the Rollem, or on offset presses for more demanding perf applications.
Guillotine Cutting
WTP has heavy-duty cutting services available with its Polar 137XT System II Cutter and Polar 76EM Cutter.
Drilling
WTP has drilling equipment to handle common 3-hole drilling jobs as well as more complex drilling jobs.
Round Cornering
WTP has round cornering equipment to handle a variety of round-corner tasks.
Shrink Packaging
Shrink packaging services, also called shrink wrapping, is available to meet your production requirements. Shrink wrapping uses a plastic film that is sealed around a bundle. It’s then heated and shrunk to make a neat, secure, see-through package of books, brochures, flyers, or other printed materials.
Paper Banding
Paper banding compresses brochures and flyers into neat bundles which are secured with an outer paper band. It’s an effective technique that allows for packing more per carton and reduces shipping costs. It also reduces the chance of damage during shipping.
Hand Stitching
WTP offers hand stitching services for short run jobs or jobs that can't be run on automated saddle stitching equipment
